Faithful Friday & Happy Hanukkah

And those who are rich should boast that God has humbled them. They will fade away like a little flower in the field. The hot sun rises and the grass withers; the little flower droops and falls, and its beauty fades away. In the same way, the rich will fade away with all of their achievements. James 1:10-11, NLT

If wealth, power, and status mean nothing to God, why do we attribute so much importance to them and so much honor to those who possess them? Do your material possessions give you goals and your only reason for living? If they were gone, what would be left?

What you have in your heart, not your bank account, matters to God and endures for eternity

This Song was on the radio when I pulled into work yesterday and then again when I left - once again a small sign for me?  Probably

I think we think people who are rich, have it all, because they MUST be happy...i mean, what have they got to be Unhappy about they drive a jag, and eat caviar!

however, people are people, with problems and struggles...if they don't struggle with finances, maybe they struggle with depression, or they have their heart broken...or they never feel secure that people don't just love them for their money....

it's easy to envy people who have the things we do not, but often times, those we envy, while they do no envy us, they do NOT have it all, and if they do, often times, it's not all it's cracked up to be.

I think "some" people (NOT ALL) have a great desire to achieve success and they strive to be the best...because they just need the validation. Some people's personalities require it. Just like some people aren't happy unless they are skinny, and some people won't date someone who doesn't make 100k a year...shallowness is NOT something to envy. but lots of people do! :)

glad you and me aren't in that bunch, aren't you?

So important, particularly this time of year, to maintain the right perspective. God's love alone is the only thing that satisfies. Holly

I think that's hard for people to remember in today's more, more, more world.
